Speegle Project “FY-09 Air Control Squadron Operations Training Complex” Awarded LEED Gold

    Speegle Construction, Inc. Awarded Prestigious LEED® Green Building Certification
    (Niceville, Florida)-Speegle Construction, Inc. and POND & Company announced their project “Design Build FY-09 Air Control Squadron Operations Training Complex” at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida has been awarded LEED® Gold established by the U.S. Green Building Council and certified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
     
    Air Control Squadron Operations Training Complex was scheduled to be constructed to meet LEED® Silver standards. However, Speegle and Pond sought an opportunity to exceed the contract requirements and provided Tyndall AFB with a LEED® Certified Gold facility.
     
    Air Control Squadron Operations Training Complex achieved LEED® Gold certification for alternative transportation provisions, efficient water use, managing materials and resources efficiently as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies. By using less energy and water, LEED® certified buildings save monies for families, businesses and taxpayers; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and contribute to a healthier environment for residents, workers and the larger community.
