    Speegle Construction. located in Niceville, FL is seeking an Estimator that is experienced in estimating Federal Government projects.

    The Estimator must be proficient in the use of both MC2 and Earthworks Estimating Software and have specialized experience in estimating Federal Government Design-Build and Design-Bid Build projects valued between $5 to $20 million. The Estimator will be performing "hands-on" estimating inclusive On-Screen takeoff, quantitative takeoffs, use of digitizer for cut and fill quantities for earthwork and sitework related activities, complete estimating of divisions 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 9 and building of assemblies within the estimating software. The Estimator will participate in the complete range of pre-construction activities which include, estimating, contract buyout, budgeting and development of baseline schedules. Types of projects bid utilize either the Design-Bid-Build or Design-Build delivery system. The latter requires the estimator to review the complete scope of project documents and interface with owners, architects and engineers in order to develop a comprehensive approach and competitive bid price. 

    Candidates must have a 4 year construction degree and a minimum of 10 years related experience in estimating mid to large commercial AND Federal Government project experience. Prior experience with Quest estimating is also desired. The position requires knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, cost control procedures, estimating of general conditions and special conditions and previous experience with drafting subcontract scope documents. Familiarity with Primavera P3/P6 & Expedition helpful.

    *Review proposal specifications, drawings & general conditions

    *Develop estimates for design-build projects from 35% conceptual documents

    *Work well under pressure and a compressed schedule to meet key deadlines

    *Attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and identify required clarifications

    *Be able to estimate entire construction requirements

    *Estimate owner requested change orders

    *Be able to prepare correspondence and RFI's

    *Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

    *Be a self-starter that is able to multi-task and willing to work the required amount of time to meet critical bid milestones

    A four(4) year construction related college degree is mandatory with a minimum of 10 years previous experience estimating commercial AND Federal projects. Resume must clearly demonstrate previous experience meeting the above criteria for applicants to receive consideration.
